Petar leapt from his steed over the moat of Mr. Morden's keep. He caught the door handle and hung from it, banging on the door with his other hand. "Morden! Lord Morgan has need of you!" The door opened, knocking Petar into the wall. He fell into the moat with a splash. Mr. Morden pulled him out, brushing the small carnivorous fish from his armour. "What is it now? More advice on which horse to back?" "No, the fort is being besieged by Bretonnians. We need to send for reinforcements." "And why should I help you?" Petar leaned forward and whispered into Morden's ear. "Ah. Fair enough. I can lead a small force right now, but the rest will require a few days to prepare. Guards! Summon my horsemen!" BRETONNIA ********* Jaron Caprion, annoyed from his failure to stop the Chaos force getting messengers out, leapt at the chance to redeem himself. Gathering all the knights in his camp, he rode out at full gallop to meet the Chaos reinforcements with his new Blade of Sea Gold at his side. Khaldon, youngest son of the Duke de Bordeaux, saw him and led his Knights Errant to help. Patrol Sigma Alpha Beta [I didn't write the names, OK?] was ready for battle. Jaron Caprion, Grail Knight Lord, with Knightly Stuff and Blade of Sea Gold. Knights de Caprion, 5 Grail Knights with the Banner of Wrath Errant de Caprion, 6 Knights Errant Defenders of the Realm, 5 Knights of the Realm Errant de Bordeaux, 5 Knights Errant CHAOS ***** Petar had been given a Blade of Ensorcelled Iron and an enchantment that hardened his skin by Mr. Morden. He galloped at the front of his force, and was the first to sight the Bretonnians. "Ahhh... my revenge will be sweet..." Petar, Chaos Hero of Slaanesh (Steed of Slaanesh, Chaos Armour, Shield, Lance, Blade of Ensorcelled Iron, Iron Hard Skin) Petar's Cavalry, 15 Marauder Horsemen (Flails, Light Armour) Mr. Morden, Sorcerer Champion of Chaos Undivided (Power Scroll, Jade Amulet, Chaos Armour, Halberd) Morden's Warriors, 13 Chaos Warriors with Halberds (Banner of More Wrath) [*[ As an aside, Morden got two suck-hole spells which did nothing. Anyway. In this scenario, for every unit of 10 or more models that leaves the board, the defending player gets an extra 50 points of troops in the final battle. It lasts 6 turns. Only half the defenders force turns up at the start of the battle, the rest arrives on turn 2, but to compensate, the defender gets 1500 points, the attacker 1000. Petar, Morden and Morden's Warriors were there at the start, with the Marauder Horsemen one turn away. ]*] Turn 1: Bretonnia ***************** The Bretonnians edged their Warhorses forward. The Banner of Wrath sparked and crackled, but was dispelled. Turn 1: Chaos ************* Morden and his Warriors marched 8" forward, while Petar rode his Steed of Slaanesh directly between two units of Knights, so he would be unchargeable and unshootable. Morden cast a spell on someone, who was promptly incinerated by the Banner of More Wrath. Turn 2: Bretonnia ***************** The Knights of the Realm moved forward to charge Morden's Warriors next turn. The two units of Knights Errant moved to charge Petar, while the Grail Knights moved to get the Banner of Wrath into line of sight him. With a crackle, it was dispelled. Turn 2: Chaos ************* The Marauder Horsemen moved on from the edge of the board. Morden's Warriors moved forward a few inches, and Petar charged the Grail Knights, smashing two of them from their saddles with his lance. The Banner of More Wrath vaped two Knights of the Realm, but the rest held. Turn 3: Bretonnia ***************** Two units of Knights Errant charged Petar. "I challenge you!" cried the Hero. "Like hell," replied the Bretonnian general, who left the area. Lance after lance bounced from the armour of the Chaos Hero, who minced 4 Knights Errant in return. Two Chaos Warriors fell to the lances of the Bretonnians, and no Knights died in return; the Chaos Troops lost the combat, but held. The Banner of Wrath spat sparks as Destroy Spell was played on it (and failed). Turn 3: Chaos ************* The newly arrived Marauder Horsemen crashed into the Grail Knights, killing all but the Standard Bearer. Petar's Steed of Slaanesh lashed out with it's tongue, grabbing the survivor and bringing him into beheading range. The last of the Errant de Bordeaux died, and the other unit of Knights Errant panicked and ran off the board. Only Jaron Caprion was left, his blows bouncing from the Chaos Hero's armour- he ran and was pursued by Petar. The Chaos Warriors minced two Knights, losing one man themselves. The Bretonnians held. The Banner of More Wrath spoke, reducing them to 1 man. The Bretonnians ran, pursued by the Warriors. There were now only two Bretonnian models left on the board. Turn 4: Bretonnia ***************** Jaron rallied, turning around to face Petar, and the lone Knight kept running not very far. Turn 4: Chaos ************* Petar crashed into Jaron, inflicting a wound. The Chaos Warriors charged the Knight once more, who fled again before being char-grilled by the Banner of More Wrath. Jaron held in place. Turn 5: Bretonnia ***************** Raising his Blade of Ensorcelled Iron, Petar smashed Jaron from the saddle. Over the next turn, the Marauder Horsemen left the board but the Chaos Warriors didn't (by 2"). RESULT ****** Even though it was a complete Chaos victory, the Chaos troops would only get an extra 50 points. Oh well.
